“How is something THIS fabulous HERE?”
This is a question often heard from first-time visitors to Ballast Pointe Trading Company and BP Mercantile. First reactions reflect surprise and “Wow!” that something so unique and well-designed is nestled on a corner of sleepy downtown Kingsland, Georgia.
WOW!! “I would expect to see this in Atlanta, Jacksonville or a resort destination—why are you here?' “It's just like walking into a Home Design magazine!” “I want to l-i-v-e- here!!” “Surely,” they say, “you are a chain akin to Pottery Barn?”
Actually, Ballast Pointe Trading Company and BP Mercantile—two stores in one—are a one-of-a-kind creation of designer, Dana Maye Hawthorne, and her mother. 2017 is Year 10 in business, all at this historic location—2 miles west of I-95, Exit 3, on the corner of GA Hwy 40 and US Hwy 17.
